GameRang Review

Gamerang is one of the best game rental companies around since 2003 and now they have over 6000 game titles available. Currently, the company features four distribution centers spread across the United States—California, Oklahoma, Minnesota, and New Jersey, which should yield countrywide coverage of only 1-2 day shipping times. In fact, they claim that half of their customers receive their games the next day. Gamerang may well have the quickest shipping times nationwide as a result, particularly for the poorer-served interior and rural areas.

Unlike Gamefly, Gamerang currently does not provide free tiral or money-back guarantee. They are charging $14.95 for one game out for first month. After that, It’s $17.95 for each additional month.  If you want to rent two games a month, it’ll cost $24.95.  Three games are $49.95, and four games are $59.95.  After that, you can add an addition game up to ten games for $9.95 for each title. Now, Gamerang is conducting a special promotion for paying $30 (1 Out-at-a-time, no monthly limit!) for 2 months and 2 Games $40 Bucks (2 Out-at-a-time, no monthly limit!) for 2 months.

The awesome part about Gamerang is their large selection of game titles available for renting. They claim they are holding over 6000 titles and they are supporting PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 1, PSP, Xbox 360, Xbox, Wii, GameCube, Nintendo DS, and Game Boy Advance.

Once you receive the game you rent from Gamerang, you have the option of keeping it.  Your rental fee will count as a discount on buying the game, although the discount isn’t as great as it is on some other rental sites.  Once you tell Gamerang you’re buying a game, they’ll send you your next rental.  However, comparing to Gamefly, you most likely will not receive the game box and the game manual with your rental.

What Are The Advantages Of Gamerang?

Gamerang boasts a fast turnaround / shipping timeframe than most of their competitors. Additionally, Gamerang offers the option to have more games out at a time than other online rental sources will allow. Although you do pay a higher price (and deposit) for these higher level memberships, hardcore gamers aren’t likely to mind.

If you need assistance at any time with your Gamerang account, you can call their 1800 toll free support number.  Their support staff is quite knowledgeable and ready to help.

Overall, Gamerang is a pretty good video game rental site, but it’s not the best service out there, either.  It doesn’t have the free trial, money-back guarantee, or the stable website that services like GameFly offer.
